| When her husband Ernesto (Jaime Camil) throws himself into work and refuses to start a family, Maria (Blanca Soto) begins to think he is having an affair and turns to hypnosis to help her understand her relationship. But when the therapist ends the session, she doesn't come back as herself. Instead, Maria is convinced she is a Basque princess from the 15th century, who is engaged to a prince from that time. Scared and vulnerable, Maria ends up in a hospital, speaking a language no one understands. As Ernesto becomes jealous of this imaginary prince, he soon realizes how much he loves and misses his wife. When Ernesto hires a charming Basque chef (Javier Tolosa) to serve as an interpreter in an attempt to bring Maria back, the plot thickens and many comic and romantic obstacles ensue. Ultimately, REGRESA captures all the perfect ingredients for a timeless love story: romance, passion, and more than a little bit of magic. |
