Los Angeles, CA - October 12, 2009 – Academy Award® nominee Sharon Stone (“Casino”) and Carice Van Houten (“Valkyrie”) are attached to star in the sexy new drama “Satisfaction,” while Chris Evans (“Fantastic Four”) is in discussions to play the lead role, it was announced today by producers John Evangelides and Cerise Hallam Larkin. Production is set to begin in the UK in first quarter 2010. Los Angeles based Media 8 Entertainment is selling worldwide rights to “Satisfaction,” and will introduce the film to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM) in Santa Monica. Chris Evans will star as Jimmy, a young gigolo living in London, who has managed to get by so far on nothing but his good looks and charm. But as he starts to worry about how long he can survive this way, he finds himself caught between a rich and manipulative older woman, Emma (Sharon Stone), and a younger woman (Carice Van Houten) who for the first time can offer him something for nothing - unconditional love. Like a modern-day “American Gigolo,” “Satisfaction” is a sexy, smart, and edgy drama, a contemporary tale that exposes the dark underside of London today.
“Satisfaction” is written by Simon Burke, and will be directed by Anya Camilleri (“Ny-Lon”). Producers are John Evangelides (producer of “A Good Woman” starring Scarlett Johanson and Helen Hunt) and Cerise Hallam Larkin (“I Could Never Be your Woman” starring Michelle Pfieffer).
'We're incredibly excited to have such a stellar cast attached to the film, who believe in its potential as much as we do,” said producer Cerise Hallam Larkin.
Anya Camilleri most recently directed and co-created the acclaimed British TV series “Ny-Lon” starring Stephen Moyer and Rashida Jones. She also co-created and was lead director of the award winning series, “Liverpool 1,” starring Samantha Janus and Tom Georgeson, which led the ITV autumn schedule for two consecutive seasons. Her first cinema short, “Perfect,” won several international awards.
Screenplay writer Simon Burke is a multi-award winning writer based in London. His adaptations of classics include “Tom Jones,” “Sons and Lovers,” “The Picture of Dorian Gray,” “White Teeth,” “A Tale of Two Cities” and Jane Austen's “Persuasion,” recently seen in the US starring Sally Hawkins. He also created the crime drama serial “Liverpool One” for British star Samantha Janus and co-created the London-New York love story “Ny-Lon,” starring Stephen Moyer and Rashida Jones.
